“Maths is being able to count to twenty without taking off your shoes.”
- Mickey Mouse
At Pevensey and Westham we know the importance confidence plays in children’s attitudes and success in mathematics. Parents and carers can really support with this at home by spending time playing games together and practising quick recall of number facts. Our Maths Team have created these ‘Maths is Fun’ booklets with a range of games and activities to play as a family. Please contact the school office if you would like a printed copy.

Primary Maths Dictionary
Questions like “What is tessellation?”, “How do I draw a bar model?” or “Where do I find the radius of a shape?” can stump any of us. Googling the answer is one option, but using the correct terminology and definitions in maths that are specifically aimed at 6 to 11 year olds is so important.
